Our pharmacy staff provides a team approach to our Five Rivers Health Centers patients. Our goal is to work with you and your primary care provider to manage your prescriptions as part of your overall health and well-being.
Under the 340B Program, federal law permits community health centers like Five Rivers Health Centers to buy outpatient prescription medications from drug manufacturers at a discount. In exchange for committing to serve any patient who walks in our doors, regardless of their ability to pay, insurance companies reimburse safety net providers like Five Rivers at retail rates, allowing us to realize a savings that we then reinvest into our services and programs.
The 340B program was created to help safety net providers like us stretch scarce federal resources. Without the 340B Program, Five Rivers would not be able to provide care to our patients.Federal law requires 340B safety net providers to comply with stringent requirements that govern our ability to participate in the 340B Program and restrict how we can use 340B savings.
Here are some of the ways Five Rivers Health Centers uses its 340B savings: -Help eligible patients pay for medication costs and services -Help eligible patients with their out-of-pocket health care costs -Expand services (vision, podiatry, sports medicine, infectious disease) and service locations
